Everyday Look: 10-Minute Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

This natural everyday look takes 10 minutes and features your favorite drugstore makeup. Keep on reading to get the step-by-step guide to this fresh look!
10-Minute Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

Okay, yes, us choosing this tutorial was because it was another excuse to stare at Eman’s ridiculously gorgeous face and hear her sweet voice, but this look also happens to be absolutely beautiful and inexpensive (two words we love hearing in the same sentence).

Using only drugstore products, Eman creates a rosy, youthful look that features flushed cheeks, a pink lip and groomed brows. This makeup is perfect for days when you need to be somewhere in a flash, are looking for a look that will take years off your face or don’t have the energy to apply a full face of makeup.

Scroll down for the step by step guide.

Step 1
Let’s start with priming our skin. The beautiful and talented Eman uses Nyx Cosmetics Soft Focus Primer.

Step 2
After priming, move on to the foundation. The drugstore foundation used here is Maybelline Soft Matte Dream Velvet Hydrating Foundation in Medium Beige.

When it comes to applying foundation, I like to do it with a good ol’ foundation brush, but feel free to use a Beauty Blender, your fingers, or whatever tool you feel most comfortable working in.
This foundation is supposed to be velvety and hydrating, making it perfect for dry skin. image via EMAN

Step 3
Now that your foundation is ready to go, let’s apply concealer. The concealer used in this tutorial is L’Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter/Concealer.

Apply a generous amount under your eyes, down the bridge of your nose and under your cheekbones.
Looking for an all-in-1 concealer? This is it! image via EMAN
Generously apply it to brighten up the face. image via EMAN

Don’t forget to blend!
Blend, blend, blend, girl! image via EMAN

Step 4
It’s on to the eyebrows with Nyx Sculpt & Highlight Brow Contour pencil. Fill in your brows as you normally would.
This brow pencil is smooth to apply and will keep those brows in place. image via EMAN

Step 5
Once those brows are on fleek, grab your Wet N’ Wild Ticket to Brazil bronzer and lightly apply it along your cheekbones.
Now it’s time to warm up the face with some bronzer. image via EMAN
Lightly apply it on the apples of the cheeks. image via EMAN

Step 6
With the other side of your Nyx Brow Sculpt pencil, take the highlighter and apply it on the inner corner of the eyes and under the brows’ arch.

Step 7
With the same bronzer you used on your face, apply it in your eye’s crease to give your eyes shape and definition.

Step 8
Let’s move on to the cheeks. The blush used in this tutorial is Neutrogena Cheek Blusher in Vibrant 20. Lightly dust the apples of the cheeks for a flush of color.

Step 9
After blush, curl the lashes and apply Maybelline Colossal Mascara.

Pro Tip: a trick to applying falsies is cutting the strip in half and apply the outer half first and then the inner half. Both halves will overlap, but the finished result will look natural. Even when you look down.
Curl those lashes and apply falsies, if you’d like. image via EMAN

Step 10
Apply mascara on the bottom lashes.

Step 11
Line the lips with L’Oreal Lip Liner in Timeless Coral.

Step 12
Go over it with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Flush. If you’d like, you can go over your lipstick with L’Oreal Pro Gloss in Coral Sands.

10 Trending Hair Colors For Spring 2016

Still trying to find that perfect hairstyle? The one that defines you, adds edge to your look and is super simple to take care of? As we all know, the perfect hairstyle starts with the perfect color so let’s see what Spring 2016’s trending hair colors are.
10 Trending Hair Colors For Spring 2016
2016 is the year to let your hair down and we mean that literally. With the trending hair colors for 2016, it won’t be hard to stay away from the hair elastics and headbands. All the trending colors are so beautiful, they’ll make you want to book your appointment to the hairstylist ASAP.

If you’re someone who welcomes the bold and beautiful this year, then you’re in for a real treat. Here are the trending hair colors for 2016:

1. Ronze

Looking to enhance your naturally red hair? Go ronze! IMAGE VIA Cosmopolitan

Ronze is the perfect color hair mixture designed for redheads. It’s described as a combination of copper red and bronze brown, so if you’re a natural redhead and are looking to add some depth and vibrancy to your hair color, this is the trend for you. With that said, it’s always best to talk to your stylist when coming up with a tone that will complement your skin.

2.  Dip-Dye

Looks like the dip-dyed trend is here to stay!

The dip-dye hair trend doesn’t seem to be getting old, does it? Well, it’s all good because we really love this hair trend! There’s just something so fun and cute about dip-dyed hair. Not only does it look pretty, it gives you the freedom to not totally commit! All it takes are a few inches and strands.

3. Babylights
I love the way babylights look! They’re the perfect color for spring. IMAGE VIA Original Hairstyles

Move over highlights because babylights are taking over! Yes baby, this year, we’d suggest that you get babylights instead because the effect is more multi-dimensional compared to traditional highlights. Plus, since it uses a different technique (no foils, just meche or plastic wrap), the effect lasts longer too.

4. Rainbow
Think rainbow hair is over? Think again!

Really, we can’t get enough of rainbow-colored hair. Whether it’s pink, lilac, blue, green or pastels, your hair will be trending until next year (or maybe even the year after that). I love the rainbow hair trend; every girl should express themselves with color!

5. Bronde
Go for a subtle change this year with a bronde look. IMAGE VIA Pretty Hairstyles

If Ronze is for redheads, then Bronde is for the blondes and light brunettes of the world! Bronde is a mixture of brown and blonde, making it perfect for blondes looking to go darker or brunettes looking to kick it up a notch.

6. Platinum Blonde
Nothing says fun like a platinum blonde ‘do.

On the other hand, if you’re a blonde who wants to make your hair lighter, you can always go for the platinum blonde look. This is such a fun hair color to wear if you’re a natural blonde.

7. Blue Tint
Looking to make this year a bit edgier and daring? Go with a dark blue tint.

The blue hair tint is the edgiest color trend of the year. If you love your jet black hair but want to add some oomph without making significant changes, the blue tint is the one for ya!

8. Gray
Gray is the official cool girl hair color.

If I were to pick a favorite from these hair trends, it would be a tough call between rainbow and gray hair. I am so in love with gray hair. I think it’s pretty, elegant and edgy all at the same time. And let me tell you a secret, I also like it because my gray hairs will become unnoticeable too (don’t judge me, it’s hereditary!).

9.  Opal
If you don’t want to take the plunge with rainbow hair, get an opal color.

The opal hair trend is quite similar to the rainbow hairstyle except with this one a pearlescent color is added to the mix. It’s such a beautiful look!

10.  Balayage Highlights
Balayage highlights are a classic look. IMAGE VIA Fashion Gone Rogue

Balayage highlights have been around for a while and it’s safe to say that many love them. What’s to love about balayage? For one, the colors are hand-painted, which means that your stylist has more control when applying the color. Second, the effect appears to be softer hair and, last but not least, there’s less noticeable regrowth lines meaning you won’t have to get your roots touched up! All in all, the balayage is still a winner!

It looks like these colors have a little bit of something for everyone. From blondes, brunettes to redheads, there’s an ideal hair color for everyone to wear this year. Which one is your favorite?

Edgy Pastel Ombre Makeup Tutorial For Spring 2016

Looking for a cool look to wear this spring? Then this pastel ombre makeup tutorial is for you!

     Edgy Pastel Ombre Makeup Tutorial

Spring is all about color, color and more color, so what better way to show our spring spirit than by wearing a look that features 3 beautiful, vibrant colors? This edgy ombre makeup tutorial is for daring beauty junkies only, so keep on scrolling if you dare!

Step 1. Apply Primer
Let’s start with a primer around the eyes. The primer Mariah uses is Benefit Lemon Aid Eyelid Primer.

Step 2. Apply Foundation
Take your favorite lightweight foundation and dot it on the areas that need the most coverage. Blend it out.

Step 3. Concealer
Apply concealer under the eye, around the nose and on any blemishes. Be sure to blend, blend, blend.

Step 4. Brightening Powder
Then, take Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder and apply it under the eyes to give them an awake, fresh appearance. You don’t have to use Laura Mercier, but opt for a matte brightening powder, rather than one with shimmer. You don’t want to look like a raccoon wearing an eye mask made of glitter.

Step 5. Eyeshadow
Choose a warm gray shadow as your base color. Apply it on the outer crease of the lid.

Take a darker shade of gray and apply that on the outer corner of the lid’s crease.

Choose a bright lilac color for the inner corner of the lid and blend to the outer corner of the eyelid (the darker gray shade).

Step 6. Eyeliner
     Create a thin, winged eyeliner.
Time to practice your winged eyeliner skills! Image via Mariah Leonard

Tip: If the wing is a little messy, use an angled brush with foundation to clean up any rough edges.

Step 7. Lower Lashes
Apply a complimentary shade to the initial one you chose (if following the tutorial, opt for a pale, cream shade with a hint of shimmer) and apply the color to the inner corner of your eye.
Add that pop of shimmer to brighten up the eyes. Image via Mariah Leonard

In the middle of the lash line, apply a bold mint-green shade for a pop of intensity.

For the ombre effect, apply a bright, sky blue shadow to the outer corner of the lower lash line.

Step 8. Apply Mascara
Apply mascara on both your top and bottom lashes; if using falsies, now’s the time to apply them.

Step 9. Contour
Contour below the cheekbones and blend it upward. Contour around the edges of the forehead to add warmth to the face.

Step 10. Illuminate
Apply highlighter across the cheekbones, under your eyebrow’s arch, the tip of your nose, and on your cupid’s bow.
Now for my favorite part: highlighting! Image via Mariah Leonard

Step 11. Apply Blush
Apply a soft, pink blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Step 12. Lips
Trace and fill in your lips with a pinkish brown lip pencil. For lipstick, opt for a coral shade. The lip products used in this tutorial are Anastasia Beverly Hills Neon Coral Liquid Lipstick and Ofra Rio Liquid Lipstick.

Now you’re ready for spring.
